Education & Expertise: Joni earned a B.A. in Public Relations and Applied Advertising from the University of Central Missouri and an M.A. in American Studies from William & Mary. She brings more than 30 years of experience in editorial development, institutional advancement, and public history collaboration to Little Star.
Wendy Daniel, Graphic Designer & Illustrator
Her favorite color: It’s the “blues” that bring Wendy the most joy (although it’s hard to pick a favorite). She loves all colors and isn’t afraid to use them.
Her favorite place: Not surprisingly, outside under cerulean skies and anywhere next to water.
Education & Expertise: Wendy earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Arts & Design from Virginia Commonwealth University and brings more than 30 years of creative direction, fine art, and graphic design experience to Little Star.
Cathy Plageman, Copy editor
Her favorite editorial exercise: Polishing. Cathy takes great pleasure in helping authors polish their masterpieces including novels, short stories, memoirs, plays, and poetry.
Her next favorite exercise: Weeding. The page is her garden, and she is a pro at tending to misspellings, misuses, and errant or missing punctuation.
Cathy earned her undergraduate degree in economics from Duke University, her Master of Education from Marymount University, and her fundraising certification from the University of Richmond. She brings more than 30 years of experience in education, editorial development, and institutional advancement to Little Star.
